The store was originally purchased by my parents nearly 20 years ago as a small convenience store and gas station. Slowly as the profit margins dropped in the fuel industry they expanded with some more room and added different products to the store including a bit of fishing equipment. Taking over the store was always an option for me so after some factory work, roughnecking on an oil rig and some disaster restoration work I decided that it was time to make an offer on the store. I purchased the store from my parents in 2008 and have been slowly expanding the hunting and fishing side of it since.

Since I came from northern Ontario all I did growing up was hunt and fish. I became quickly addicted to the diversity of hunting and fishing in the valley as well as the differences in tactics between here and the north. I remember as a kid watching a bass fishing show and laughing because the guys were grunting and struggling trying to bring in this short, fat, little bass... soon after we moved here I learned fast that a short, fat, little bass can put up a mean fight and instantly became a big fan of fishing them.
